| Father Thomas A. Dennehy Distinguished Alumnus Award The Distinguished Alumnus Award is given to graduates of St. Brendan High School in Miami. The honorees are selected not only for their professional achievements but also for demonstrating Christian principles in their everyday lives and for service to their community and their alma mater. These alumni use the tools given them during their Catholic education for the benefit of others; displaying a spirit of caring, generosity and goodness to others and to their former school. Previous recipients of the Distinguished Alumnus Award are Mrs. Esther Jordan, Class of 1980 Esther, who returned to the school as a faculty member right after college, has taught numerous subjects at St. Brendan High over the last 20 years. She is also the moderator of the Future Educators of America Club where she mentors students to provide after school tutoring for underprivileged children in the community. Honorable Judge Marylin Milian, Class of 1978 Before becoming a household name across America for her work as the People's Court Judge, Judge Milian devoted many years in service to her community by sitting the bench as a Miami Circuit Court Judge. Honorable Judge Adalberto Jordan, Class of 1980 Judge Jordan is a Federal court judge currently appointed to the US District Court here in Miami who, along with his wife Esther, a faculty member at SBHS, has been very supportive of the school and community over the years. Ms. Jackie Nespral, Class of 1984 A well known local news anchor, Ms. Nespral has been an ardent supporter of St. Brendan High School since the moment of her graduation. She has exemplified Catholic values in many ways over the years by donating her time and talents to various charities.
