The St. Brendan High Alumni Association pays tribute the Sabre legacy and tradition by a series of awards recognizing the contributions of both alumni and current students.

Father Thomas A. Dennehy Distinguished Alumnus Award

The Distinguished Alumnus Award is given to graduates of St. Brendan High School in Miami. The honorees are selected not only for their professional achievements but also for demonstrating Christian principles in their everyday lives and for service to their community and their alma mater. These alumni use the tools given them during their Catholic education for the benefit of others; displaying a spirit of caring, generosity and goodness to others and to their former school.

Previous recipients of the Distinguished Alumnus Award are

Mrs. Esther Jordan, Class of 1980
Esther, who returned to the school as a faculty member right after college, has taught numerous subjects at St. Brendan High over the last 20 years. She is also the moderator of the Future Educators of America Club where she mentors students to provide after school tutoring for underprivileged children in the community.

Honorable Judge Marylin Milian, Class of 1978
Before becoming a household name across America for her work as the People's Court Judge, Judge Milian devoted many years in service to her community by sitting the bench as a Miami Circuit Court Judge.

Honorable Judge Adalberto Jordan, Class of 1980
Judge Jordan is a Federal court judge currently appointed to the US District Court here in Miami who, along with his wife Esther, a faculty member at SBHS, has been very supportive of the school and community over the years.

Ms. Jackie Nespral, Class of 1984
A well known local news anchor, Ms. Nespral has been an ardent supporter of St. Brendan High School since the moment of her graduation. She has exemplified Catholic values in many ways over the years by donating her time and talents to various charities.

The Founder's Service Award
         
Established in 2003, the Founder's Service Award is given to our youngest alumni, a graduating Senior, chosen by the faculty and staff for their exemplary behavior and Catholic values. The students are judged based on service to their School, Parish and surrounding community. The recipient is presented their award by before the entire Senior Class at a gathering of Students, Parents and Faculty shortly before graduation each year.

In 2005, with the formation of the St. Brendan High Alumni Association, the Board of Directors created the Alumni Award to recognize graduating Seniors who exemplify special dedication to the Sabre tradition and spirit.
