Holy Week Pilgrimage to France

Dear Sabre Family:
Greetings and many thanks for your support of your beloved alma mater in a variety of ways! Your assistance and ongoing dedication to St. Brendan High School allows us to continue building upon the great legacy of our school.
I take this opportunity to make you aware of a new and valuable tradition we are introducing this year at our school: a Holy Week-Easter pilgrimage in which our students, their families and you are invited to participate in. From March 28 to April 5, 2010 we will be visiting many of France's landmark sites culminating with an Easter celebration at the world-famous sanctuary at Lourdes. Attached you will find a flyer with pertinent information regarding this great trip.
One of the goals of this pilgrimage is to provide our school choir an opportunity to sing at some of the sacred sites we will be visiting including the Solemn International Easter Vigil Mass at Lourdes. This will be an invaluable experience for the members of our choir and a source of profound pride and accomplishment for our school. As you may well imagine, due to the present economic challenges, many of our choir members are unable to fully afford this journey.
We are therefore asking for any financial assistance you may be able to provide in order to allow our students to participate in this enriching experience. Both members of our choir and the French Honor Society have begun planning bake sales, talent shows and other fund raisers to enable their possibilities of joining this pilgrimage. Any generous donations on your part would be a tremendous supplement to their efforts and would be most appreciated by them. You may mail your contributions to St. Brendan High School (c/o Ms. Ana DeArmas, Alumni Director) and make checks payable to St. Brendan High School.
I thank you in advance for your generosity and support on this matter. I hope some of you can join us on this fantastic venture and can attend the meeting for interested travelers which we will host at our school cafeteria on Monday, November 23rd at 7:00PM.
